God has been working over these past few weeks and we thank Him for all that has been accomplished.
It was so encouraging to be able to send a quantity of lessons, application forms and certificates from Nairobi to Malaba. Joyce was pleased to receive the items and it will make her work easier in the immediate future. It was a tiring day for Eunice as she made arrangements to transport them. Firstly, having to bring all of the boxes to the bus station. We are also thankful to a dear friend (a local Pastor's wife) who helped in the task. God has been providing in amazing ways over these past few weeks and sending the items to Joyce has been just one of the projects accomplished as a result. We are rejoicing and giving thanks to God and look forward to sharing more news with you in our next prayer letter. The clothes collection was also very good this time round. One of our biggest collections to date. We thank God for the funds provided for the work in this way and thank all of those who contributed by donating clothes. The amount raised on this occasion was £440. Thank you to all who played a part. It is wonderful to know that people will benefit from these funds but also local people in Africa will benefit from being able to re-use the curtains etc. and wear the clothes provided. Of course, we have learnt over the years that when God is working and we can see Him blessing and things moving on....it is certain that the devil will also increase his efforts. So it is no surprise to us that we have faced a few challenges in recent days in regard to personnel and those who assist us. We realise yet again that there are those who try to make mischief and hinder the work in Kenya. Sometimes such people are from UK and sometimes from Africa. There was a time when these things flustered us and we could panic and stress about what to do. Now, after many years of challenges we have learnt to rest upon God and to know that all things work for good. We have learnt to take these challenges one day at a time. Indeed, we have learnt from a friend to view them as challenges and not problems. We can look back on past years and remember how God worked everything out and always for the better. We know He will do this again. We are praying for guidance and for wisdom and ask you to pray with us in this regard. Pray that we will be very clear as to who genuienly is called to the work and who genuienly wishes to be a part of this ministry. Pray that those who try to make trouble will be stopped in their tracks. We have so much to Praise and thank God for. We have been knowing His leading. Plans for the future; both personally and in the work; have been falling into place. Circumstances have encouraged us and we have been left amazed at how God is working in ways which some people may call coincidence, but in which we see God's hand. We know that He is faithful and we look to Him for the days to come. Pray for the children who have been receiving lessons. Pray for those who have recently enquired about enrolling children on our programme. This has included a centre that works with children who are deaf. What an amazing opportunity to bring the Gospel to these young people. Pray for guidance regarding volunteers and those who can assist in the work. Pray for continued progress with the charity registration. Following our application we have been advised on some changes which are needed to our constitution; please pray for this ongoing process. For those of you who attended our 10th Anniversary service; you will have heard Joyce speak of how children have been saved through our Bible Lessons. This has included street boys and muslim children. Pray for these boys and girls; that their relationship with God will continue to strengthen and that they will be mighty warriors for their Lord and Saviour. Finally, we want to let you know that our Nairobi office has now closed for the holidays. Details of how to make contact with us can be found on the home page of this site. Thank you for your ongoing prayers. We appreciate your ongoing support so much.
