As you know Pastor Aringo has been looking after our office in Nairobi for many years now for which we are very grateful. Due to personal circumstances, Pastor Aringo is taking a break from the work of Feed my Lambs as from this week. This will initially be for a few months and then his situation will be reviewed. We continue to be in contact with Pastor Aringo and assure him and his family of our prayers in these days. Meanwhile, our office is still being looked after and the work is continuing. The office can be reached on 0727 798115 or email us for more help. We ask you to pray much for Eunice and others who may assist in the office in the coming days that they will know the Lord's help and guidance in this responsible role. We have had another busy week. Today I met with a couple who brought us a lot of knitted items from a knitting group in their Church. They also brought us some children's clothes. We appreciate so much the generosity of so many people. The photos show just two of the blankets received and there are many more. I am sure you will agree they are just lovely and will certainly be appreciated in Africa. I also went today to view a room which we are considering for an event later in the year. I am a little undecided as to whether it would be suitable or not. A second opinion definitely needed from my husband! We are also arranging to view a few others. Pray that we will know exactly which place is right for which event.
We have been discussing a lot of new ideas and ventures over recent weeks for both Africa and here in Northern Ireland. They are still in the planning stage and being prayed over, but we hope we will soon be able to share some news with you once we have the green light. Also, at long last I have today been able to transfer some funds for the purchase of some Bibles in Uganda. We are obtaining these from a new supplier and there has been some difficulties and confusion over exchange rates, bank charges and transportation costs etc. We have sent just some funds today in order to see how it all works out. They are reasonably priced so hopefully it will be straightforward. We have a rough idea of how many Bibles we will receive, but we will let you know the final number once they have received the funds and confirmed that there are no additional charges. We are excited about this. These particular Bibles will go to children in Uganda. Thank you for praying for this ongoing need.

Thank you for your continued prayers. Our blog is a little later this week due to having a few days out of the office over the holiday period. William enjoyed the opportunity to do some work at our home though there is still lots more to do! We have been advised by an electrician that the house needs totally rewired. This would be a huge task and on this personal note we ask for your prayers for the way ahead. I enjoyed a few days with my youngest nephew before he went back to school. We are always thanking God for His help in the work and for our co-workers...but we are also thankful for each other, a happy marriage and a home to call our own.
Back to the work of God. There has been a lot of marking in the Nairobi office this past week. In particular these have been lessons from an area called Kericho in Kenya. This is an area we have visited and we have numerous children there enrolled on our course. Please pray for them. In Uganda; after a period of illness, Joyce has been hoping to travel to a number of different schools and Churches this week where the children are using our lessons. Pray for her as she meets with them again. We have once again been discussing how we can bring in more income in Kenya and Uganda themselves rather than all funds having to come from UK. We ask for your ongoing prayers for this issue. We are excited that we have finally managed to get in direct contact with a CEF worker in Kenya. We have tried this many times and have never been successful. This particular worker ministers in an area of Kenya we have a particular burden for. We have enjoyed chatting with him and look forward to partnering with him in the future in reaching the boys and girls with the Gospel. Please pray on for each child we are reaching, for each part of the ministry, for each centre we have contact with and for the days ahead ministering for our Saviour. Our blog is very simple this week. "Pray for Kenya".
By now you will have heard about the terrible events in Garissa University last week when so many young people lost their lives. Please pray for their families. Please also pray for those who have been injured or affected in any way. These are uncertain days for the country and people of Kenya. Please pray much in the coming days. Following the attack in Garissa I contacted a lady whom we know who lived in the area for many years and served the Lord there. We were concerned for those known to her. This was her reply. "Thanks Pam for asking. My friends are there and are not affected. The attack made them strong and some are in the village ministering to kids now as we talk. Our God is greater than terrorists. Many are coming to Christ and this makes us even stronger!" |
