The countdown to "Safari Kenya" is now on! The shop is just about ready and God willing we hope to open the doors at 10am tomorrow morning.
We have been busy all week preparing things. There has been so much to do. The early part of the week involved a lot of planning, designing of leaflets etc. On Thursday morning I went walk about around our town and managed to get some leaflets into quite a number of shops and establishments. Of those I went to only one place actually refused. A couple of others took them but still don't seem to have put them up, but most have displayed them as promised and we really appreciate that. We got 1000 leaflets printed and the bulk of them are now gone. We got the keys to the shop on Friday afternoon and started to get things in almost straight away. William and I spent quite a few hours there on Friday and Saturday. Dad looked after the stall for most of the two days as we got things sorted. The shop is now set up with a display section and a small section of items which can be purcahsed. This week is mainly about raising awareness of our work. It was quite a task getting everything displayed, but we think it looks quite well now. William even managed to get a Kenyan flag flying outside! We have been encouraged by the interest shown so far, not only when we have given out leaflets, but also by members of the public who have stopped at the window as we have been setting up or in some cases passers by have actually come in to ask what we are doing. We hope that many will return during the week. This project is something very different for us but also something which we haven't seen much of before. We hope that we can develop the idea if all goes well this week. We really hope you will call and see us if you live close to Portadown. For more details see our leaflet here. If you're not able to make it, then the most you can do is pray that God will really bless us this week and make His work known. We pray that this will also be an opportunity to share the Gospel.
