PRAY FOR THE CHILDREN

1/10/2012

Our hearts are heavy today for the family of the child who was killed in a grenade attack in Nairobi yesterday.  We ask you to pray that the Lord will comfort them and bring peace in the midst of this terrible tragedy.  Remember also the other children and indeed adults who were caught up in the events of the day.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to them all.  You can learn more of what happened by clicking HERE.

Meanwhile, we would ask you to pray for our ministry as it continues in Uganda.  We spoke briefly to Joyce a few days ago and she estimates that around 600 children will be ready for Bibles in November.  We are excited and encouraged to hear this news...yet disappointed that we probably won't be able to be there in person for the first presentation in Uganda.  Please pray for funds to purchase these Bibles as well as many more copies which are needed in Kenya.

Yesterday we also received an email from a brother in the Lord in Uganda.  He writes:

"Greetings to you my sister pamela
To day was a wonderful  day in our church. Sister Joyce visited us and the children, so they have started the lessons, the lessons are good and i understand they are going to do good in their lives and thank you for starting them. thanks"

We were so excited to read this latest news and thank God for the desire in the hearts of those in leadership to bring the Gospel to the boys and girls in their congregations.  Please pray for these little ones as they begin to study.

More than ever we want to return, not only to Kenya, but to be able to make our first visit to Uganda.  Please pray that God will provide so that we can organise this very soon.  We feel it is vital that we visit Uganda so that we are more familiar with the area and with our ministry in that part of the world.

I also thought you may like to see some photos of the newest addition to the FML family.  Our brother Mike, who assists Pastor Aringo in our Nairobi office; recently became the proud father of a beautiful little girl called Mary.  He and his wife prayed for many years for this precious little gift and we rejoice with them that God has answered prayer.   Pray for this lovely family.

We continue to give God thanks for all that He has been doing.  After a good weekend at the market, today we were able to transfer some more money out to Africa to be used in our ministry in both Kenya and Uganda.  We thank God for this.  Please pray that we will continue to know God's blessing in this practical part of our work.  Pray for William as will have added work in cutting blocks and sorting the coal and firelighters etc. for sale at the market as the busy Winter season approaches.

We continue to look to the Lord to bless in all that we seek to do for Him and thank you once more for standing with us in prayer.
